Fort Yukon Staff

TimothyJohnsonFortYukonTimothy Johnson is a coach, mentor, teacher, and friend of many in the Yukon Flats community. He has worked for the Yukon Flats School District for nineteen years. Six of those years were in Chalkytsik. While there, he increased student test scores and he led the volleyball team to five district championships. In Fort Yukon, Timothy was the first coach to take two sports to state in the same year: cross country and volleyball. He also led the Fort Yukon team to four volleyball mix six district championships. Coaching cross country, mix six volleyball, and basketball keeps him very busy throughout the school year. His favorite subjects to teach are general math, cooking, carpentry, and history. He majored in History and minored in Physical Education.
Borislav NikoltchevI have been a teacher for five years, four of them in rural Alaska. In Fort Yukon I will teach Math and Science. Prior to teaching, I was either a student or an engineer. For me it is hard to choose any specific hobby, interests, or passion - I enjoy doing many different things in my free time. Sometimes I read about far-away places and remember not so practical information that can be easily found when needed, so geography is the thing where my curiosity resides. I hope that I will like Fort Yukon, and the community will accept me.

Greetings,
Stefka NikoltchevaMy name is Stefka Nikoltcheva and I am the new Special Education teacher in Fort Yukon. I have two adult children. My son is finishing his masters in Accounting from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma and my daughter is a Special Education teacher in Hawaii. My husband, Borislav Nikoltchev, is teaching with me in Forth Yukon School as well. I graduated with a BA in Psychology in 2009 from Storm Lake, Iowa and a MA in Special Education (2017) from the University of Oklahoma. Aside from teaching, my hobbies are reading, traveling, and yoga. My intention is to teach and support Forth Yukon pupils in a loving and calm environment as well as encourage happy, capable and creative qualities in all.

Together we go, develop and grow!
